 “Pixel Perfect” with Josh Taylor
8:00-10:00 am
What is a pixel? Learn to use a pencil and ruler to make your own pixel art. Basic lesson on measurements and how to use a ruler to draw perfect squares.

“Acrylic painting” with Brianna
10:00-12:00pm 
Everyone loves to paint!  But there’s more to it than just slapping some color on paper. Painting with acrylics and working with them on different mediums, learn how to mix and blend, what brushes to use, where to start and when to finish.

“Harry Potter week” with Monique

Calling all Harry Potter Fans!  Love for the stories of the wizarding world, be able to come and make their own novelty Harry Potter items.  A favorite way to get in your imagination working.



Week Two (7/17-7/21)

Improv and skill building with Jess and Adam
8:00-10:00am
Learn to act (or strengthen acting skills) both on script and off script. All skills and strategies learned through engaging activities can be applied to all forms of acting.

3D “Sculpting with paper Mache” with Bonnie
2:00-5:00pm

 Everyone likes a cute or even creepy little monster.  Turn trinkets and trash into magnificent monstrosities.  Learn to make monsters with Paper Mache for lifelike artwork, using recycled objects to make these wonders.


Week Three (7/24-7/28)

“Mixed Media” with TBA
8:00-10:00am
Combine different medias to make amazing art; with paper, painting, tissue paper, drawing, fabric and everything else we can find in the art cabinets.  Making wall, table and other art.

“Sculpting with clay”, with Brianna
10:00-12:00pm
A favorite amongst everyone, children will be able to learn how to work with clay, learn how to sculpt and mold clay and polymer clay.  The possibilities are endless.

“Earth Art” with Monique

Learn all about recycling and the earth while making art to express how they feel about the earth and all the amazing things this world has to offer us.  Work on making an impact while making art, because Earth without ART is just EH!


Week Four (7/31-8/4)

“Play- writing and skit building” with Jess and Adam
8:00-12:00pm
Learn the format of playwrights used to write a play and perform it with your friends by the end of the week. Young actors are not expected to memorize this one. This session is more to do with some of the behind the scenes aspects of theater.

2:00-5:00pm  “Huichol Marakame & more” (Yarn Art) with Monique
Some of the most beautiful and colorful wall hangings are done from yarn, explore the many ways something so simple can become so intricate.  Learn how to make different kinds of art expression using different yarns, strings and material.


Week Five (8/7-8/11)

“Cartoon Expressions” with Josh
8:00-10:00am
Learn to draw your favorite characters and create your own. We will be drawing, painting, creating our own characters across many different styles.

“Pencil and Ink art” with Bonnie
10:00-12:00pm
Kids will learn drawing techniques and how to use ink as a medium.  Working out the imagination on how to use simple everyday objects to create some creative use for those things and learning to think outside the box.

Kids with be learning from and painting with professional artist Don Gillespie


Week Six (8/14-8/18)

“Auditioning and Professionalism” with Jess and Adam
8:00-12:00am
Learn how to nail that audition and make your best impression1 we will be learning the do’s and dont’s of an audition, deepen known theater skills and how to use those in an audition and will have a “mock” audition at the end of the week (this session covers both plays and musical theater)

“Animal Art” with Monique
2:00-5:00pm
Kids will be choosing different animals to make up different forms of art surrounding the animals they prefer.   Explore the many ways animals are used in art and using their creative mind to do it in so many ways.  Animals have endless possibilities.  


Notes

Classes will compensate for younger and older kids, to have them separate and able to work at the right pace and skill for their age. 

The Free program is open to all school age children who are welcome to come eat free lunch and stay for a 1-1/2 hour daily art project that they will take home with them at the end of each day.
The afternoon class from 2-5 is a mixed age class; projects will be adjusted for age capabilities.
